The military has taken us across the country three times. Three full cross-country moves. (NY>NV, NV>NC, NC>UT). This was by far the hardest one since we have Miss Rosie in tow, along with two dogs. It took us 7 days to drive from NC to UT. Turns out, traveling with a 7-month-old who hates being in a carseat is sooo not fun. We have had some snafus when it came to our housing on base, so when we arrived, we settled into temp housing. It's hard to feel homey in a home that is undoubtedly not going to be yours. Good karma circled back our way, and we were offered a beautiful 2-story home on base.
Utah is truly in its own class of beauty. Every state has something to it, but we feel very lucky to be stationed here. Nature is lush, the sun is warm, and the views are out of this world. We can see The Great Salt Lake from our bedroom windows.
Now that we are settling in, I have big plans for this business. I am continuing to work from home, so we are not full-time on Western Freedom. I also have the added responsibility of the little critter baby crawling around my house, getting into trouble. Outlets are apparently the hottest toy for an 8-month-old, who would've thought?
I had my first market last weekend, and it was the best market I have ever done in the existence of WFC. I believe that is a good precursor to how successful this business will be here.
I just wanted to write up a simple update for you all. I said I would blog on here and haven't done so in three years, so this felt a little overdue. We are settling into our new home and loving every second of it (I might not like it so much when the snow falls, but oh well).
Here's to a new state, a new adventure, a new expansion, and new spoons. :)
